OpenAI's Agent Infrastructure Push Is Bigger Than the Headlines Suggest

A humanoid that can't remember the layout of a building it's been working in for weeks isn't useful.

For robotics, this could matter a lot. The hard part of embodied AI isn't just perception or motor control (though those are hard). It's the cognitive architecture that lets a robot reason about long-horizon tasks, remember context, and recover from failures gracefully. OpenAI is building that architecture for software agents.
